A paper multi-point sheet does one job: it tells the service writer what the technician found. It can't show the customer anything. By the time the writer is on the phone explaining that the rear brakes are at three millimetres, the customer is being asked to spend several hundred dollars on the word of someone they can't see, about a car they can't look at. Plenty of them say no, and a fair number of those go get a second opinion somewhere else.
